In 2017, the Bunge Deutschland GmbH supported the competition team of the local fire brigade association, consisting of Tim Bratzler, Uwe Spitzer, Steffen Göring and Robin Kandziora, with a donation. This also emphasizes the close and good relationship between Bunge Deutschland GmbH, its company fire brigade and the City Fire Brigade Association.
The contestants entered the World Police and Fire Games in Los Angeles this time and won two gold medals and three silver medals. Tim Bratzler won the gold medal in the stair climbing in sportswear competition and the silver medal in stair climbing in full firefighting apparel. The 63 floors of the AON Tower had to be climbed in the fastest time. Uwe Spitzer also won the gold medal with 175 KG in bench pressing, while his colleague Steffen Göring won two silver medals: one in bench pressing in his age group and one in deadlifting.
